While I occasionally see its tracks in winter this is only the second time in two years that I have actually seen it in the backyard of our Anchorage home. A very shy alert animal, it suddenly bounded into the bushes. I photographed it while I was hidden behind curtains and a window in a darkened room, so I don't think it was responding to my presence.
