Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was captured in a small town called Thorpe in eastern Washington. We pass this place all the time and this was the first time we had stopped so I could shoot it.

Time

We were traveling very early in the morning while fog was still resting on the hills.

Lighting

The sun was just above the horizon.

Equipment

I had just purchased my Sony A77-ll and used my 70-200 Sony G lens.

Inspiration

For years I've traveled back and forth from Western Washinton to the Eastern side. The barns along the way over time were getting more and more dilapidated so I'm trying to capture as many as I can before they collapse.

Editing

I used photoshop Elements 14 in post processing.

In my camera bag

In my backpack I have my Sony a77-ll, Sony G lens 70-200, Sony 28-75 lens and a Pheonix 19-35 wide angle lens. Other items are a cleaning kit, extra cards and batteries for my Sony flash. Snacks and water. Oh and a selfie stick, ya never know.

Feedback

I love landscape photography no matter what time of day, but my most favorite time is at sunset, the golden hour. Just shoot what you love, that's my advise.
