Gorgeous capture of unique architecture. I'm curious to know if this was an extremely long shutter speed or just simply an empty hallway. I'm suspecting an empty hallway. Just beautiful.

Location
I took this photo in a random little walkway at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. I've come to find that universities tend to have some of the best hidden gems.Time
I went for a walk with my puppy on the hunt for this location around noon on a beautiful sunny day. It was quite warm that day and I was really was really unsure if I was even looking the right area for this photo or not. By the time I accidentally found it I was drenched in sweat, but my excitement overcame all that in an instant.Lighting
Because it was a sunny afternoon the lighting was perfect when I arrived. The sun just happened to be at the right location to produce the shadows I wanted and bright enough to illuminate the entire tunnel. I had to pause though to allow a couple of girls a chance to get a few of their wacky poses and subsequently be on their way. The photo was taken around 1:00pm on April 30, 2016.Equipment
I used my recently purchased Sony A7RII with the 10-18mm f/4 wide-angle lens attached. I wanted to use one of my higher quality lenses for this shot, but I couldn't get enough of the walkway with a narrower view. To achieve the perfect angle I used my ProMaster tripod with gimbal head so I could find-tune the mise-en-scene.Inspiration
I stumbled upon a photo of this walkway and noticed it was taken in my city, I thought the photo was quite cool but that I could add my own flavor to it. I searched through many sources for hours trying to locate it through several sources with only two small bits of information to guide me. Low and behold I had found an unpromising lead to one of the university's campuses which was located basically in my own backyard. I was very hopeful to say the least.Editing
I spent 6-8 hours or more in post-processing with this photo and to say I was sick of the pen tool in PS for several days afterwards is an understatement. Some of the smallest and minute details in a photo sometimes can make the biggest difference. In my camera bag
In my Canon backpack adorned with flag patches from every country I have visited I carry my camera, all four of my lenses along with the essential accessories I may need on any outing. I always have a minimum of 2-4 batteries fully charged, several cloths for wiping my lenses, charger, and a pen and paper just in case I need to take notes, or in the rare case that my phone is dead, I can scribe the information of anyone I meet while traveling. Of course, I also have a strap on the outside for my tripod in case I will need it whenever I am out and about. Don't forget the memory cards! I always carry 2-3 memory cards just in case I fill one or happen to leave one at home plugged into my computer for editing.Feedback
My advice is to always be challenging yourself. I am always looking at photos both far and near and I challenge myself to go do them as good or better, if I fail I make it a learning experience, and if I succeed then I put that experience in my so-called "bag of skills" so I can pull it out and utilize it whenever needed. Never be afraid to adventure and challenge yourself so you are always experiencing all the beauty the world has to offer and capturing it through your lens when the opportunity is available. If taking beautiful photos was easy it wouldn't be fun or rewarding. The hunt for a challenge is what both inspires and motivates me. Go out and search for things that haven't been done and give it your best. No failure is an actual failure when you learn from it.
