The Halifax Harbor Marina is home to many of Daytona's residents who prefer to live on the water, not just near it!

That is the fire station in the background on the right, which has been there for many decades. The Mizner Mediterranean Revival style of architecture, while popular again now, began here in Florida after 1918, when the architect, Addison Mizner moved to Palm Beach for his health. Some of his notable designs were the Everglades Club, El Mirasol, the Riverside Baptist Church, Boca Raton Resort & Club, and La Guerida- JFK's "Winter White House".

While it's doubtful that Addison Mizner himself had anything to do with the building of this fire station, he most definitely influenced its style.
