This lovely light pink Flamingo was spotted at the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida. They have large enclosures for most of their animals that are much like they would be in the wild. The Flamingos hang out with other water birds, such as Rosate Spoonbills, and white and scarlet Ibises.

The algae in the diet of a Flamingo is what gives it its bright coloration. This one was much more pale than many of the others, which I found fascinating. It was almost ghost-like in its beauty!
