I was on vacation in Ft. Lauderdale. My wife and I were staying on the 18th floor of Beach Place Towers. Our room had an eastern exposure overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. I took this image from the balcony.Time
This is about 9:00 in the morning. I was very upset as the sunrise was ruined by dense clouds on the horizon. I guess I just had to wait for the silver lining to show.Lighting
Until the sun broke out, it was a very cloudy morning.Equipment
Not sure right now but it was either a Samsung HZ 35 or a LUMIX 1000.Inspiration
I love the streams of light as the sun bursts through the clouds.Editing
A little dodging tempered with a little burning in added for good measure. Lightroom is so much nicer to work in than working in a darkroom. In my camera bag
Panasonic LUMIX 1000. It’s all I need.Feedback
Chasing flares is like chasing rainbows. You have to learn the conditions that produce the effects in nature. Or, you can do what Weegee (the early 40’s NYC street photographer) suggested, f/8 and be there.
