Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake city.

Time

It was in the morning before noon.

Lighting

I was lucky, this wolf loves to hide in the trees at the top of the hill, so the lighting came from above the treeline.

Equipment

I used my Canon REbel XTi. nothing else.

Inspiration

Going to the zoo is a tradition for me, ever since I was a child. This wolf was very elusive when he first arrived, but over the years has become easier to shoot. Getting this shot was a lucky moment. It was as if he paused just for me.

Editing

Slight cropping to bring make the image larger, and fading of the fence line.

In my camera bag

Camera (currently a Canon 70D) flash, tripod, extra lenses, back up battery, lens hoods and cleaning equipment.

Feedback

Patience. I am still an amateur in all ways but there are moments when the shot just falls into place.
