Location
This picture was taken from the beach of Sol Cayo Guillermo, Cuba.Time
It was early afternoon as distant storm clouds began to accumulate to form this rather dark, ominous backdrop for the single while small sailboat.Lighting
The while sail of the boat along with the color of the water is enhanced by the storm clouds.Equipment
The shot was made with an Olympus STYLUS1.Inspiration
It was the dark cloud(s) forming in the background that caught my eye.Editing
Not much post-processing was done other than tweaking the contrast and levels. In my camera bag
I usually have some Nikon gear and that depends on what we might be doing. The D7000 makes a nice light travel camera along with maybe a macro lens and one or two zoom telephoto lenses. I also travel with a light Olympus Stylus1 … one, it has a nice zoom range 300+) at a constant f2.8 aperture and two, it does pretty good sound and video capture. Sometimes will take a GoPro along for video and stills.Feedback
With my travel photography, its mostly my being at the right place at the right time. Sometimes I'm lucky, sometimes I'm not.
