My sister Alesia would have loved this picture, she died on Dec. 20th She lived in Oklahoma and loved photographing the storms. I like it as well by the way.

Absolutely stunning ... the atmosphere must have been highly charged while capturing it.

Location
This was taken while on an extremely busy Alberta highway. However, there was a stoppage of traffic for a few minutes and I was able to grab a half dozen frames.Time
This was in the early afternoon as a storm moved across the area.Lighting
It was rather dark and here was this secondary cloud hovering inside the weather system … sort of like a spaceship.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon 7500 with an 18-300mm lens.Inspiration
The shape and location of the cloud within a cloud really stood out and luckily I was able to capture it.Editing
A bit of adjustment was made in RAW, mostly with a boost in contrast. In my camera bag
When out and about making short trips, I usually only have one body and one lens, that being a Nikon 7500 and an 18-300 zoom lens. And when traveling, I no longer take a bunch of equipment. Two bodies, two or three lenses (one being an extreme 10-20 wide angle zoom.Feedback
Basically, if you don't have a camera with you at all times, you'll only be able to talk about "the one that got away".
