Out for a walk and nearly left my camera behind, and urge to grab it even though it was dreary looking out... Then this absolutely gorgeous shades of pink and drops of water called out to me.

This photo was taken along the way walking my child to school here in Tacoma Washington in the USA, after it had just rained. The Pacific Northwest is known for its rain and randomly I decided it was a good day to take my Canon Rebel with me to see if there was something that caught my eye. Sure enough these large drops of water did on the cherry blossoms.Time
It was taken in the morning Wednesday, March 09, 2016 10:08 AM and it was amazing timing as the weather here is on and off like a light switch at times, so I had packed my camera in a waterproof back pack and brought an umbrella I indeed used, until the weather had let up for a moment. I got my moment, and I stood there looking for an opportunity to find beauty in an everyday tree people walk by and not necessarily take a pause for it's beauty.Lighting
There were lots of clouds, but this didn't discourage my find in any way if anything it makes me strive to get a shot even more. I cannot say I've had schooling for photography and it's just something rooted in my heart I feel moved to do, to find beauty, to pause and admire things most people never learn to appreciate. All I can say is life is the canvas, play with the light, use what you got, keep on snapping and snap a few more just in case. Then the next phase to cut, make the cut, or edit to taste just like when you are cooking or baking food. Enhance it a little, dramatize it, or make it artistic. Whatever it is, do what you like.Equipment
I was the tripod, I usually don't use one. I probably should, however, I'm on the go a lot and I don't always have time for that I use the try angle approach and if I don't get it I try another angle until I do. I rarely give up. I use a Canon EOS REBEL T3i I often use the macro setting with the lens that the camera came with. Eventually hope to get better lenses someday to play with, however I am a live in nanny for my sister and her husband and I don't do it for the money; they're family. That's all there is to it. That hasn't stopped me from making due with what I have. I aspire to be at least an advanced hobby photographer and being inspiring or move people through photos.Inspiration
Perhaps I was thinking at the time, of other shots I've seen in other photographers photos; where there is water drops that magnify or reflect the same objects in them as the objects they rest on. That was what I was attempting to get.Editing
Okay, so the editing process is fun and depending on what mood I am in I will try to do minimal editing to enhance a photo with out over doing it as I cross my fingers. Then I will try to go back to the original for a peek and see if I missed something or if it was way too much. I believe I lightened this particular photo then brightened it and adjusted the colors to pop the pink a little more, and sharpened it some.In my camera bag
The usual lens the standard nothing super fancy (what do I know I'm not schooled in this, self teaching/learning), it is a EFS 18-55mm lens with image stabilizer with macro capabilities of 0.25m/0.8ft automatic or manual focus and option to use the image stabilizer. With that said, I do believe I used the stabilizer and the macro mode. One of my favorite things to do is get fine details. As for taking selfies though, I try not to use macro on my face so much.Feedback
Advice. My advice would be to look into and study some ideas of photos that are inspiring and to go for it. Don't give up on the idea, no matter how many fails there are. Play around with the light, or plan to get the right light and at the right time. All these things are a lot to take in and think of as well as unpredictable variables that come into play. One cannot achieve perfection without patience and practice. Even imperfections can create beauty and it becomes perfectly imperfect.
