Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in the backyard back side of my sister's house, the paint color is a very pale blue which is super pretty, on that day I decided to try a selfie style with the large camera in my hand which is quite difficult to maneuver but is manageable with some practice. However the lens I used was probably not the right one I wanted to use, I still got a useable shot. For me, on this day, I wanted to capture my freckles and the unique makeup job I did with my eyes and kept most of the rest natural. Aside from being a natural redhead, at this point I had done some bleach to it and it lightened up quite a lot. Still looking on the red side however along the lines of strawberry blonde one might say.Time
This was taken around noon in the back yard against the backside of the house, the sun would be behind me to the right a bit, which is where I played with the editing and drawn in some light in the upper right corner of this photograph. It felt fairly balanced out for me and what I was going for and a few more minor edits and looking at it today I couldn't tell you how much I did all I know was I tried very hard to keep it minimal and natural as possible.Lighting
Taken in the shade, on a bright sunny day around noon.Equipment
Canon Rebel EOS T3i I think I used a portrait lens.Inspiration
The weather, the freckles, the makeup I was wearing on my eyes and just felt in the moment to try something on myself.Editing
Very minor editing to keep the most natural look possible aside a bit of eye makeup that was worn that day.In my camera bag
Usually I keep my macro lens, my wide angle lens, my telephoto lens, portrait lens, and my most used lens which is the one the camera came with standard 55mm I do believe. Not very familiar with the right terminologies most photographers use I tend to play with my camera do some research if I am trying to perfect a photo and go from there. Self taught by hands on and practice.Feedback
Don't be afraid to take a selfie and use your imagination. There is a lot that goes into photographs, however if you don't screw up or don't try anything you won't get what you want and sometimes those mishaps turn out to be really great photos. Perfection is not key to the photography eye, it's the little things, the big things, the textures, the fog, the smears, the movement, the mistakes that improve improv. Improv is the most fun and adventurous kind of photos and you never truly know where it will take you in the end; in fact you will have more surprises and inspiration out of those photos.
