Thank you so much. I'm still crawling baby when it comes to bird photography.

Location
This photo is from Lock and Dam #14, from Iowa. This place is famous for the eagle actions. One need to see the day is clear, and temperatures are really cold, like missisipi river needs to be at frozen point. The actual eagle action starts after 12:30 afternoon, when the light is right. Also, watch for the wind direction, no east winds, as it takes fish away from the shore and dam in deep water, and eagles cannot catch them. Also, the eagles are there from late December till mid March depending on the temperatures.Time
After 12:30PM.Lighting
One really need to have clear day here. And start shooting after 12:30. Then the light falls on the river and eagles. That way one can use lower ISO and get crisp shot.Equipment
Nikon D800. Tamron 150-600mm lens. Tripod, no flash. Use the back button focus, and continuous burst mode of camera. ISO 400, shutter speed 1/1200, and F-stop 8. You have to have higher shutter speed, as eagles come down with the rate of 75-90 miles to get the fish and fly away quickly.Inspiration
Eagles are such a magnifician birds, and symbol of freedom. Their speed, grace, wing span expressions while catching the fish, and power of their claws. If one could watch all this, it beyond beauty. It is one magnificiant masterpiece god created. And who would like to take p hotograph of such bird?Editing
Using Lighroom, some curve adjustment, and using Photoshop, used the Topaz DeNoise to reduce the noise. In my camera bag
Nikon D810 (now my main camera), Nikon D800 (my backup). When I'm going for bird shoot, I put Tamron 150-800 on my D810 and Nikkor 28-300 on my D800. At this p lace eagle fly very close overhead, then 28-300 is pretty good, and one can take handheld shot.Feedback
Setup the camera on continuous burst mode. Higher shutter speed. Based on light condition very the ISO to get that 1/1200th of second of shutter speed. And shoot continuously. Watch the eagle moves and get ready. Mainly have a fun. Oh, and bundle up, as it will be very cold at the river back here.
