Jackson Lake, Grand Teton National Park. This is one of my all time favorite photos.Time
Sept 24, 2015 at 6:19 pm.Lighting
It was the sunset hour. There were beautiful colors all over the sky. Beautiful red and orange lighting and beautiful reflections in Jackson Lake.Equipment
The photo was taken using a Sony alpha 7 camera and its 28-70 mm zoom lens. I used a tripod for a 1 second exposure at 31 mm, f/16, iso 200, -0.3 exposure, and aperture priority.Inspiration
I spent a few days in the Tetons during the prime foliage season. On Sept. 24, I experienced a beautiful sunset and visited Jackson Lake for some sunset landscape images. Mt. Moran and other Teton peaks provided the background.Editing
I used Lightroom to sharpen the image and to provide more saturation. Perhaps the image came out a little on the dark side. I tend to slightly underexpose most of my photos. In my camera bag
I have the Sony alpha 7 mirrorless full frame camera with its 28-70 mm zoom lens. I have added a 12 mm Samyang wide angle lens. to my bag. In addition, I carry a hybrid Canon SX 60 superzoom camera with me in case I come across wildlife photo opportunities.Feedback
I carry a camera with me whenever I travel. I try to visit the national parks in the autumn when the aspen leaves turn yellow. The last week in September is usually the best time of year for colorful landscapes. On this particular occasion, I lucked out having a beautiful sunset on Sept. 24. The sun set behind the Teton mountain range.
