Behind The Lens

Location

I shot this image in my college studios, I shot this image as part of a Movie poster project, every day I am trying to develop a better understanding of photography and the feedback i receive from everyone in the viewbug community along with the stunning work i see helps every day.

Time

This shot was a product of a day of studio time.

Lighting

The lighting in this image was fun because I was trying to emulate the lighting of street lights on a bridge and it was a fun challenge.

Equipment

i shot this with a nikon D7200, 50mm nikon prime, tripod and 2 studio flash units.

Inspiration

this photo was shot for a movie poster project in which I aimed to shoot the poster in a film noir style.

Editing

the post processing on this image was a standard black and white conversion with very subtle dodging to the highlights and burning of the shadows this created a very contrasted image.

In my camera bag

my standard bag for out and about work has the Nikon D7200, 50mm nikkor lens and a 70-300 sigma.

Feedback

For anyone doing studio work at a learning level I would say get hands on with lighting styles and angles, and use the light in every way possible. The more hands on you get the more you learn what does and does not work.
