Behind The Lens

Location

This photo I Take it in the Aran Valley, Pyrenees, Spain, between 17th to May 23rd of 2009. This photo is part of a project called Barrabés Barcelona, when I was studying in the Master of Urban Design: Art, City, Society in the Fine Art School of Barcelona, in the Landscape Photography subject.

Time

I don't remember of the exact time, but I remember we went to the mountain very early and we stay all light day walking trought her. Late afternoon we walked back home. Maybe this photo was taken in the middle of the day, some memories came to me but I'm not sure.

Lighting

Well, I think was a lucky shoot, I had the south point of view and we've walked for a while and decided to stop and choose that point for the project. This photo is part of Barcelona Barrabés project, is a point of view related to the Barcelona city and the Mountain. This project was create with Alejandro Saldivar, Fabio Vacca and Lingyu Chen and with special thanks to Enrique Carbó.

Equipment

I love analog photography and I have an old camera LUBITEL 2 and with the support of an Yashica FX-3, I take this photo. I used a tripod Benro. No flash and with Ildford Delta 100 Profissional / Ildford FP4 Plus 125.

Inspiration

Is all about to the project, I have this south point of view related with the Barrabés Barcelona. With Enrique Carbó we choose a path and from time to time we choose a spot to take this photo for the project. In front of me a big massive mountain, with some snow and some trees, I put the tripod, the Lubitel 2 camera, a little more up, a little mor down, waiting for some clouds and I took the shoot.

Editing

Yes, I made a simple post-processing in the dark room. I use two filters, a yellow one and a red one with different exposure time. I used a FB / matte paper.

In my camera bag

I use different cameras for different projects. Normally I work more with film and I use my simple cannon 600d with a samyang cinema lens for cannon and zoom H5 recorder. For landscape photography I use all time the Lubitel 2 or the No. 2C Folding Autographic Brownie, for portrait sometimes I use the Yashica FX-3.

Feedback

I think that I had some lucky with my south point of view. The view was nice, with everything to take a nice photo. I wanted everything, a big mountain, the snow, the trees, some sky and clouds, a nice perspective but the most important was that I wanted to capture the felling, the real, the emotional, the challenge and the sublime. We are so little in front of this landscape, walking trough her is amazing, the silence, the water sound, the wind, everything moment is special and we only need to clean our mind a deep breath look around and take the shoot.
