Location
It was taken at a windpower farm about 15 minutes from our cabin in the woods. It was the perfect conditions with very little light pollution.Time
Sometime around midnightLighting
I think the way that the small flashing light from the turbine lights up the entire thing over the long exposure time is really cool.Equipment
Canon Eos 5D MKII, Sigma f2.8, 24mm lens. Gorilla pod attached to my car roofInspiration
I had been wanting to take photos of a windturbine at night for some time. I was quite curious as to how it might look. One night my girlfriend encouraged me to drive us out there and do the shoot. I was pleasantly surprised by the result.Editing
Only slightly in Photoshop to try to reduce noiseIn my camera bag
I rarely use my camera bag even though I feel like I should. I usually just carry the equipment I used for this shoot with me. The rest of my equipment is often in the trunk of my car, because you never know when you might need it.Feedback
The angle is the most important thing for this specific photo. Many of the others I took that night looked sort of flat and boring in comparison to this one. But first you should be familiar with how to photograph the milky way or starscapes.
