This was shot on my livingroom table at home one gloomy winters dayTime
It was probably in the evening, I shot around 2000 exposures in a few days, practicing droplet photographyLighting
For this shot I used a macro ring flash handheld and moved around to get the best lighting on the subjectEquipment
I shot this with a canon 70D, 100mm lens, I also used a tripod, ringflash, a "third arm tool", pipette and a small spray bottle for the water dropletsInspiration
As I was playing around with the other droplet photos I just felt that the color of the flowerpetal and the background complimented eachother really nicely, and that it might look nice like this on a big print with that petal going through the image.Editing
This image didn't need much processing, just a bit of highlight and shadows adjustments, sharpening and a littlebit of healing tool to get rid of most of the too strong highlightsIn my camera bag
I usually bring with me way too much on my shoots, I always have my camera of course, now a canon 6D, my zeiss 21mm and canon 70-200mm, I normally bring the 100mm lens with me aswell in case I should see something that would be an interesting macro subject while I'm out and about. I also have my filters, tripod and cable release in my bag at all timesFeedback
Don't limit yourself to just one form of photography, try different things and that way you'll learn even more! Be prepared for different types of photography when you go out shooting, and don't give up if you don't get the shot that you're looking for, you might get a keeper out of it!
