The Christmas tree wasn't up more than 5 minutes and Nylah claimed the tree as hers. None of us were permitted to touch the tree even if it was to turn on the Christmas lights.
In this photo, she is standing guard...protecting her tree from predators. If she didn't pay close attention, some strange shiny things may turn up hanging on the branches or perhaps a very long, strange, snake-like thingy might turn up wrapping all around the tree for some strange reason.
So, being the protective watch cat that she is, it didn't take long for her to find the absolute perfect spot for her to curl up for a nap and still keep watch over this wonderful new gift from those 2 legged creatures that share her home. You know who she means. The same ones that feed her, play with her and even scratch her belly when she is need of a little lovin'.
If you are lucky enough to be a part of her little world, then you will probably be on her list of creatures that will get their hand smacked if you try to touch this special gift, so don't bother to try to turn on the lights unless you are willing to get a swat again later in the day when you go to turn them off.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
