The Photo was taken out on a Hawk Quest Birds of Pray photo shoot In Golden Colorado.Time
This photo was taken around 9:30 in the morning on a late spring day. The sun was not high in the sky wet so the light was sitting just right.Lighting
The Light on this image was done with natural light from the sun. The sun was not high in the sky yet so we had a beautiful morning casting light across the owl. I was lucky to find the right spot as the owl decided to look at me in this position with his eyes wide open. Always being ready to hit the shutter, I took the shot as the owl gave me this spontaneous look which last but a second.Equipment
I shot this with a Canon 6D and a 24-105 lensInspiration
The inspiration came from nature. I found that photography is sometimes the only way to capture the one moment in time that will never be again. The light, the colors and the perfection of nature can only inspire you.Editing
No post processing was done on this photo. It is one of my goals to try to capture everything in camera with out any post production Just like when we shot film you get what you shoot. In my camera bag
The equipment I normally have in my bag is of course my Camera, Canon 6D, 24 to 105mm 4.0 lens. Also a 70 200mm 2.8, a macro 100mm 1.4. 2 Speed lights, one reflector and a tripod. Alway extra batteries. Water for drinking and a lens cleaning rag.Feedback
The advice I would give is to alway be ready to hit the shutter button. Make sure your shutter speed, F-stop and ISO is set. A lot of really awesome photos will come at you quick, so be ready or you will never find that one shot again in a lifetime. Trust me I have miss a few!!!!
