Location
This picture was shot in "Trinity Bay" just outside Trinity Island. Trinity Island is located in the Gerlache Strait at the Antarctic PeninsulaTime
This shot was taken around 10-11.00PM dec-28Lighting
The light was nice and soft, partly cloudy.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D4s and a Sigma 25-105mm f/4 lens. Aperture: f/7.1 ISO: 800. Shutter Speed: 1/1000 sec. Focal Length: 24/1Inspiration
This is probably one of my favorite shot of ice shapes, and when i saw this iceberg i wanted a shot with one of the "Fast rescue Boats" in the middle of the iceberg to add some more color and hoping to give the picture more dynamics, and or a feeling of some action as well.Editing
This image is post processed in Capture One for RAW and then LR6 and Nik Software. The only thing i regret is that i didn't upload this particular picture in a better resolution. In my camera bag
the first thing i always pack for trips like this is my Nikon D4s and the 80-400mm and then some small primes for landscape. Sigma 35 and 50mm f/1.4 and a nikkor 85mm. Wish to bring more stuff but have to stay as light as possible on trips like this. I will add a Nikon D500 for the next trip coming up.Feedback
The Antarctic Peninsula has unique characteristics and is one of the last wilderness almost untouched by humans. The nature is the most magnificent I have had the pleasure of experiencing and the light "can" be magical. The biggest challenge is the weather, it changes abruptly depending on the day you can have sun, snow and heavy wind and back to sunny and nice. All within a few hours.
