Behind The Lens

Location

This image was produced at home, in a small studio. I am an amateur photographer and I often use a room in the house to set up a studio with my equipment, camera, camera, lens, flash, tripods, white plates and reflectors.

Time

The image was taken in the morning, however the outside light was not ideal, since the window itself was not directed to the area where it was working, just as the light from the studio ceiling was not enough either. So I used additional light.

Lighting

Yes, a good question. As I mentioned earlier the existing light was not enough. For these cases and here as I intended a superior lighting to evidence the details in a different way and given that I had to make some final assemblies with the photoshop image, I used a lighting superior to the work plane and a side flash with two reflections to fill The entire scene, surrounding the image and creating in a way a generalized shadow around the brush and pencils.

Equipment

I used a superior lighting, a flash, two reflectores to iluminate the scene. My NIKON D7100, my 50mm 1.8 D lens, flash, tripod. For the creation of the image I used a gray card in the base, colored pencils and a brush. Acrylic ink was also used on the card and pencil sharpening remains.

Inspiration

I besides like photography, I also have another hobby, I love to paint and create works between abstract, landscapes and images to remember the conceptual. This will be a mix between conceptual and abstract.

Editing

Yes, in fact I always use the PS or the LR to treat the images, trying to raise the images to another level. Well, always to my personal taste, maybe have an edition of images that a lot of people do not like, sometimes a little heavy. In this case, in addition to increasing the vividness, also increased the clarity in the cardboard plan, that because who looks at the picture does not give the account that looks card but stone. On the other hand I think that the fact that you have created a vignette around the image, makes it focus more the look to the brush itself. Do not worry about the rule of thirds or another great rule of photography, I just singi to an image of the type, simple still life but with the concern of trying to get from the viewer, different approaches.

In my camera bag

Nikon D7100, Nikkor AF 50 1.8 D, Nikkor AF 18-105 G, Porst 50mm 1.7 manual lens, Tokina ATX 11-16 2.8, Sigma EX 10-20, Meyer Optiks Diaplan 80mm 2.8, ND filters, GND filter, colour filters, flash, Flash transmiter and receiver, round reflector,

Feedback

The ideas often appear from what we often even vulgarize in our day to day or even in what we like most to do. Traveling, walking, etc., can always bring wonderful ideas for photography. I try, over the years that I present images in the Viewbug, evolve and present ideas in photography, I started with the analog and I'm evolving. Always present works with good personality, interesting and whenever possible with a small, or large, final touch of brilliance in it.
