This is an AMAZING shot! Did you take this in HDR (if you don't mind me asking)? The details are gorgeous and vivid and mind-blowing. I will definitely vote for this picture! The framing of the water through the door is just the extra boost to make this photo fabulous!

Thanks! This isn't HDR but I did shoot in RAW so I was able to pull out the highlights and shadows with some editing/adjustment brush in Lightroom. I was pretty happy I was able to pull off an extreme dynamic range shot like this with a single exposure. Thanks again for the vote!

Thule Air Base, Greenland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thule_Air_Base) This is one of the Pituffik huts ("the place the dogs are tied") over looking North Star Bay.Time
Evening. 24hours of summer daylight provide ample photo opportunities.Lighting
All natural lighting. Sky was overcast which helped with limiting over/under exposure.Equipment
Canon 7D, 10-22mm lens, tripod.Inspiration
Randomly came across the hut while exploring the area. I thought it was interesting.Editing
This was a single exposure shot in RAW, so basic processing in Lightroom, plus brush adjustments to bring down the over exposed highlights and lighten the darks due to extreme contrast.In my camera bag
7D, 10-22mm, 18-135mm, CP filters, .6 ND filter, Square ND Grads and holder. I travel light and mostly shoot wide angles and landscapes.Feedback
Shoot RAW or bracketed. I did take a 3 frame bracketed RAW shot of this, but was able to decently pull the detail out with a single image instead of making an HDR image.
