Location
This was taken in the front garden of the house I grew up in.Time
Late afternoonLighting
The lighting is actually very poor, there’s two 10 ft walls either side of us, it’s cloudy etc. The light in her eyes is photoshopped.Equipment
Just a Nikon D5100 with a 50mmInspiration
I just wanted to take photos of my nieces enjoying themselves outside.Editing
Yeah, I’ve edited out the entire background and used photoshop brushes for the partial effectIn my camera bag
Camera, 50mm, micro 40mm and 80-300mm. I’m broke, don’t have the money for anything elseFeedback
Candid shots are worth processing. Never scrap photos because they’re uninspiring, sometimes it’s worth playing with them. This was literally just a cute shot that I decided to attack with photoshop and it’s one of my favourite photos that I have taken. I don’t get the same enjoyment in studio photos. (Still enjoy them, just not as much as candid!)
