Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in the Etosha National Park in Namibia in 2012.

Time

We were driving out of one of the rest stops, and came across a herd of Zebra, with quite a number of young colts in the herd. as the herd was crossing the road, two of them started battling each other. It was quite a sight, wonderful, but frighting, as they were committing 100% in this battle!

Lighting

All natural light, taken from the car.

Equipment

Canon EOS 600D, Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM, 210mm/ƒ/5.6/1/350s/ISO 125 No flash

Inspiration

I was so in awe by the scene, I had to try and capture it.

Editing

I did apply black and white processing with emphasis on High-key lighting. I also erased most of the background to have all the emphasis on the subjects.

In my camera bag

These days I have my Canon EOS 70D, Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM and an extra battery and SD card in my bag.
