This is a phenomenal photo! Makes me wonder what she’s looking at, what she’s thinking and just what is she going to be doing upstairs

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a beautiful old chateau in the south of France. I will never forget this trip or shooting in this chateau.

Time

This photo was taken around 3 pm. This image was taken in the main hall, which had quite a lot of natural light.

Lighting

This image is shot with ambiant light. Mainly natural light. The hall had big windows and the hall was built of light stone, which reflected light quite nicely.

Equipment

This was shot with Canon 5d mk III and Canon 24-105 mm, f4.

Inspiration

This main staircase at the chateau was absolutely beautiful and I knew I wanted to shoot it at soon as I saw it. I loved the imagery of the model running up those gorgeous steps.

Editing

I did some color work on this image to make it cohesive and also opened up some shadows in post. I also added some texture to make the image look aged.

In my camera bag

My fine art work I shoot with my Sigma art 35mm or 50mm f1,4. I shoot with Sony a7riii

Feedback

I knew I wanted to shoot the staircase as soon as I saw it, but I didn't end up shooting there until later in the afternoon. As beautiful as it was, it was a little intimidating and I needed some time to figure out how I wanted to shoot there. Don't rush. That's what I try to tell myself. Take your time to see what's infront of you.
