Location
This photo was taken at Patricia Lake, in Jasper, Alberta.Time
This photo was taken in the early morning hours, on a cool September day. The fog had just lifted, to reveal this beautiful scene.Lighting
The natural lighting was absolutely beautiful, I was in awe. There were a few clouds, but the lighting I was blessed with, was breathtaking.Equipment
This was taken on a Nikon D3200, using a tripod and an 18-55 mm lens.Inspiration
This gorgeous lake always looks beautiful, but this specific morning, the water was calm as glass. I had never seen a lake this calm, and along with the perfect mountain reflections, I knew I had to capture it! The mountains are my zen place, and this photo depicts my feelings towards how lucky I am to live this close to them.Editing
This photo is almost completely raw! The only thing I did was bring down the brightness slightly. In my camera bag
I usually pack my camera bag with the following: 1. my Nikon D3200 2. my 18-55 mm lens 3. my 50-300 mm lens 4. lens cleaning wipes 5. tripod 6. my water proof bag coverFeedback
The weather in Alberta, especially in the mountains, changes drastically and quickly! If you are looking for a similar capture, I would recommend practicing patience. Overcast days are always the best days to capture reflection shots, because you don't have the glare in the water. I chose to wander away from the crowds, and found a quiet place to sit and wait for the perfect moment to snap my photo. There is never a bad moment in the mountains, so to be patient, sit and enjoy where you are. The peace and serenity of the area will tell you when is the best time to snap your photo! Best of luck!!
