Location
This was taken on bribie island , qldTime
At sunset around 5:30pmLighting
The area I was at on bribie island had a row of boats that people can hire , in order to add some foreground interest I decided to put the boats into the shot . As I was angling this way and that way I noticed the sun Sat perfectly inside the metal loop where the rope goes for mooring. So I decreased my fstop to make the sun a star and lined it up and took the shot . I used my in cam flash so as to avoid the boat being a silhouette.Equipment
18-55mms lens , tripod , in cam flash .Inspiration
I love my local area , and I always try to photograph as many places around me as I can. I want other locals to be proud of where they live too and I do that (or try too) by showing them local sites in a way they have never seen.Editing
I used lr & ps. I added a hdr preset and masked out all but the boat . Increased the oranges / reds and yellows to make it warmIn my camera bag
I keep everything I own in my bag. As a beginner I don't have a lot yet . 3 lenses, tripod, nd filter , spare battery, remote and reverse macro ring .Feedback
Sunsets are probably the most common photograph ever . It's important to add foreground interest. What the light and see where it bounces off or where it is leading. And incorporate that into your frame . Use ap mode and put your fstop at f16-28 for a nice star effect
