I took this picture on a fuel stop at FOB Farah on the way to an even smaller FOB (Forward Operating Base) supporting the Italian forces in the area. We loaded on with the US Army's Task Force Apocalypse for the flight.Time
I really don't know what time of day this was... when bouncing from flight to flight, you lose track. The important thing here is just keeping the camera ready and playing with the lighting and scene that pops up. For stuff like this, there are many attempted shots that result in one good one. Blackhawks are pretty smooth, but, any shot in a helicopter has the stability of sitting in a blender making a daquiri.Lighting
