Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the kitchen of my apartment right after attending macro photography workshop.

Time

Shot was made in the evening, right after the macro photography workshop. During the workshop was emphasized that macro photography opens up an entire new world and perspective, even the simplest things surrounding us daily could be shot and made interesting. Then I started to look around... :-)

Lighting

It was no additional lighting used for the shot, only the available light in the kitchen.

Equipment

Shot was made with Leica M240 and 90mm macro-elmar lens. Camera was mounted on the tripod.

Inspiration

I wanted to capture a real nice drop of water with interesting perspective on the tap.

Editing

The photo was converted to black and white in Lightroom to achieve neutral, clean background as well as to give a nicer look to the photo. Additionally the contrast was altered as well.

In my camera bag

Depending where I go our what will I shoot. With Leica, my favourite lenses are wide angle tri-elmar and 35mm sumicron. If I go out with Canon 5d mk3, then either 24-70mm, f2.8 or macro 180 mm , f3.5.

Feedback

Be creative! Even with most simple things surrounding us daily could be made great shots!!
