I shot this when I was on my 2 hrs walk to Mt Cook. It was basically hard for me to make that decision weather to stop here to take photos and then continue or just keep walking(considering I was already getting tired and I knew I will be spending at least an hour taking pictures of Mt Cook and then walking back). At this point I was half way there and had to again remind myself the rule of 'Will I be here again in the future'. Shooting this wasn't easy either. I wanted to capture the flow of the water and the clouds with Mt. Cook right at the center. Reaching here wasn't easy. I made my zig zag way here across the river over the rocks. I was sitting on just enough size boulder and used my shade 10 welding glass to get the long exposure for the water and the clouds while keeping an eye on my camera bag just in case.
I used two exposures for this image, one for rocks and mountains and other for clouds and water(with shade 10 welding glass). I almost made this image B&W as well but because I did not use my welding glass to capture the mountains and boulders, the camera was able to capture the color info. I manually added a tint of blue and selective coloring for the water and the sky to go with the rocks and mountains.

Let me also mention that this water stream was melted ice from Mt Cook.
