Location
Little French Key in Roatan, Honduras. One of my most favorite locations I have ever traveled too. Everything about this day was perfect.Time
Christmas Day 2014 about 12:30 pm in the afternoon. Not a normal time to get a good capture in the shade and actually still have details in the sunny background. I lucked out that the sun went behind the clouds just long enough to capture this beautiful scene.Lighting
It was just cloudy enough at that exact moment to give a nice soft light. It couldn't have been more perfect.Equipment
Not my usual camera. It was my phone and I couldn't pass up the shot! Camera: SM-G900V Aperture: f/2.2 ISO: 40 Shutter Speed: 1/200 Focal Length: 480/100Inspiration
I was walking across this beautiful little island and stumbled across the scene. It was too postcard picture perfect to not to capture. It told a story all by itself. Those are my favorite captures. To be able to share what I see is my goal. I live for sharing my encounters and experiences with everyone.Editing
I used Lightroom & Photoshop to help bring out the highlights a bit in the water & sky, enhanced the saturation just a little and made sure the details in the tree didn't get too dark and were able to be seen.In my camera bag
I almost always have my Canon 6D with me. This was Christmas Day on an island with my husband and I wanted to relax and didn't bring it. I always have a long lens, 70-200 with me at all times and a wider angle lens for anything landscape. I usually have my Canon 430EX II flash. I love my MeFOTO tripod. Perfect for travel! This one fits in my carry on and is heavy duty enough to handle my camera with my long lens on it. And I usually have everything packed in my wonderful Tenba backpack. So far it has been my best camera bag to date, which I absolutely love!Feedback
I was going for composition most of all since I didn't have my professional camera with me. Careful cropping within your screen or viewfinder is the best. Again, old school film camera user that believes in capturing as close to what you want in the shot not thinking you will have to do post processing after. I want the perfect shot!!
