Vermilion-colored rock formations and stands of conifers greet you around every corner of Red Canyon. While many visitors think they are already in Bryce Canyon National Park, Red Canyon is actually a part of the Dixie National Forest, which stretches from the Nevada border to Capitol Reef National Park. Our eight day stay in Red Canyon offered numerous trails of moderate effort, with unlimited photo opportunities. I found myself hiking before sunrise every day to gain access to areas I hoped to photograph as the light of the sun worked its magic on the landscape.
