Location
This photo was taken whilst letting dogs out in a nice big open field outside a small village called Nieuw Weerdinge. It's part of province Drenthe, in the Netherlands. The field was covered in Dandelions but somehow this one stood out.Time
Because I have to walk the dogs after work (8pm) I always get to walk till sunset, the time of day I took this photo.Lighting
As you can see the lightning was perfect, there was an colourful sunset going on and that's well known as the golden hour which is also the reason why this shot was so perfect.Equipment
At that time I was still carrying around my Olympus pen e-pl5 lite and used a gorilla tripod.Inspiration
From above the dandelions looked pretty smashing when the sunset started, the golden colon really stood out but I was wondering how it would look if you'd place the sun behind the dandelion. So I got down on my knees, placed the camera with the gorilla tri-pod in front of the dandelion and just took several shots. Little did I know it would be a photo like this.Editing
I've used lightroom to crop the photo a little and to adjust some of the light, other than that I did not do any processing. In my camera bag
Nowadays I always take along my Olympus OM-D EM5 Mark II with an M.zuiko 12-40mm f/2,8 pro objective together with the tripod.Feedback
It is worth it to look for something small to photograph, it's not just the bigger picture that brings beautiful photo's. Sometimes it's worth it to get your knees dirty and look for the smaller details standing out. In life we need to look for the beauty in our own area and I think that is what really made me take this photo as part of a process to find happiness in the little things in life.
