Thank you its a 100mm glass ball brought off of ebay for around £9 like a gypsies crystal ball ????

Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in the beautiful Snowdonia national park in north Wales on a lovely bright spring April day whilst enjoying gods natural fresh air and ofcourse scouting for Dragons

Time

around midday in April so the son was fairly high in the sky however a word ofwarning with these glass balls they can magnify even the weakest sun to easily start a fire

Lighting

All natural lighting and fairly clear skies

Equipment

The camera on this occasion was a Canon 6D C/W a 24-105mm canon zoom the crystal ball brought off of ebay was 100mm in diameter no tripod and taken at ground level to the amusement of the passing walkers

Inspiration

I'd see an image where the photographer had used this technique on a sunset beach which was stunning and this inspired me to try this out in various locations and these mountains in North wales were the perfect opportunity. again a word of warning the 100mm glass ball is a fairly heavy item to carry around and certainly weighed down my camera bag so have a picture in mind and a destination before lugging this around

Editing

No not really minor tweaks in Lightroom to bring out the vibrancy of the shot nature and imagination did the rest

In my camera bag

Definitely the 6D and sometimes a 5D MkIII strange I know as surely the 5D is the better camera however the 6D is much lighter full frame and has never let me down - lenses in the bag would contain the trusty 24-105 a 100 -400mm zoom and possibly a 17 -40mm

Feedback

lets go on be inspired, by other Photographers on here, don't be afraid to try something new and get down a dirty to get a different POV. take your time do not rush an image move around think what would I like to achieve in my image then choose a destination and go for it You only live once capture it enjoy and reflect on what you have just achieved
