This photo was taken in my home garden in old delhi,India & it only consist of potted plants which are flowering and non flowering. So as a self taught photgrapher,it gave me infinite opportunities to master my love of macro photography.Time
This image is one of my best works,it was captured on saturday 4th april 2015.It was raining from the past 2 days including saturday. As the rain stops and it was still cloudy,i noticed a strange glow on my garden (diffused light coming from the clouds) which highlighted the contrast of the whole garden & almost every drop on flowers & leaves was clearly visible, this was the moment which cauught my attention.I was photographing the rain drops on the petals of hibiscus but the drops on the edges near the center looked more dramatic. So luckily with my tripod i was able to capture this image.Lighting
When i was photographing i always try my level best to capture the natural beauty of an object & thats what i aim to achieve in this image.I want the viewer to admire the beauty of drops, colour & the mesmerizing figure of hibiscus. This image does'nt capture the overall beauty of the hibiscus but a part of the beauty.I shot this image using only avialable natural light,in this case the cloudy sky acts as a diffusor which brings smoothness to the image. It also created a low light enviornment but using a tripod & some camera adjusments,i was able to capture this image.Equipment
This image was shot on a Nikon P500 SLR Camera with an inbuilt lens(NIKOR wide zomm EP VR 4.0-144mm 1:3-5.7),a Raynox DCR 250 as a macro conversion lens & a Simpex 2400 tripod.Except these no other equipment were used.Inspiration
From childhood i've always been a nature admirer & always try to figure out how thing work in the vast complex networks functioning in nature. Before i have ever touched any camera,i used binoculars to observe, which i deconstruct just out of curiosity.By accident i noticed that the eye piece of the binocular can show me the macro closeups of any object. So just like a watchmaker i obsereve strange & beautifull patterns & objects in my home garden. With my observation i came to learn quite a few thing before i learn then in my high school.Watching documentries like Planet Earth & reading magazines like National Geographic gave me huge amount of inspiration to capture what i observe in my everyday life.I strated my journey with a mobile camera & since then i have evolutionasied to images like this.So its my curiosity of littel things & patterns in natue that inspired me to take this photo.Editing
I am not a photographer whose into post processing & in many cases i dont like to post process my images at all.My camera only captures jpeg which is fine for me.In this case i do post-process this photo in Adobe Photoshop Lightromm 5.3 using just basic editing to highlight the damatic or artistic element of the image. In my camera bag
Well as far as the equipments are concerned my nikon p500 gives me a wide range of focal lenth,so in my camera bag i just carry my camera & sometimes when i was going for a walk in the park i carry my Raynox DCR 250 for macro photography.I know that the equipments i have are not high end at all but if you are a passionate photographer, then you can produce some quality images with basic of the basic equipments.Feedback
When you are doing macro photopgraphy, you dont always need to dig for details sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture.First start with a wider perspective & then narrow it down to a detailed level. When doing macro every second counts,so stay alert & be patient & wait for the right moment to click.Always try to capture your subject from every point of view as it will help you to shape your pespective in every direction.Have faith in your inspiration & never try to capture the exact image you have in your mind, instead use that as a benchmark & work hard to beat your dream image.Always believe that the wonders of nature are everywhere.
