I went to this location on a fairly clear day hoping to capture the sunset. As I was waiting there for the sun to hit the horizon, another photograph idea occurred to me. The light hitting the different layers of trees was beautifully dramatic and directional. Upon looking through my telescopic lens, I could see the shadows and the light passing between the shadows clearly, I knew immediately that this was my shot!
