I honestly believe that some of my most satisfactory landscape photographs have been those that I spent some time planning. This is an classic example of that. I had this picture in mind, of the sun setting through the horizon with no urban object in scene. So I went to Google maps-earth, found my spot, which was a lookout point on top of a mountain that was facing west and then planed to shoot on a day with some clouds but not a lot. Here is the result :)
