Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at Noyes Pond in Vermont, USA.

Time

The photo was taken at sunrise. It was a chilly morning and I was all alone. It was a great atmosphere.

Lighting

While waiting for the sunrise I already saw the clouds moving into the scene. At this point I knew there is something great coming up.

Equipment

I used a Canon 5D II mounted on a Feisol tripod. Cable release and a graduated neutral density filter was in use, too.

Inspiration

The framing was simply great. The rocks in the foreground made it the perfect setting in my opinion.

Editing

I don't do a lot post processing. I only made a few adjustments on clarity and sharpness in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

In my bag you can find my Canon 5D II and up to three lenses. I never leave without cable release, my filter set including several graduated and neutral density filters and my tripod.

Feedback

I spent two days at this location. My advice is, to always keep calm and wait for the right moment. Don't get tired of waiting, be prepared for ever changing light.
