Location
Plains Conservation Center in Aurora, ColoradoTime
Around 7 p.m.. Just at the start of Golden Hour.Lighting
It was during Golden Hour, partly cloudy and it had just finished raining, great conditions.Equipment
A Nikon D90 with a 35-70mm kit lens. I hand-held the camera.Inspiration
I lived about 3 miles from here at the time and was hoping for a rainbow behind the tepees, so I went over to the site. There wasn't a rainbow, but there was some awesome light. So I worked with what I had.Editing
Very little post-processing. I boosted the contact by about 5% and removed 2 small power lines in the distance. In my camera bag
2-Nikon D90's, an 85mm f1.4 Nikkor lens; 18-75mm f/3.5-5.6 kit Nikkor lens; 70-200 f/2.8 Nikkor lens; 50mm 1.4 Nikkor lens; 2-SB 700 flash units and various batteries, cards, etc.Feedback
Be ready, always. Even though I was disappointed there wasn't a rainbow, I saw an opportunity to get some great shots. So I shot with the available light. Try different angles, different lens so you can see many different perspectives.
