I took this image sitting on my couch on evening while checking some accounts on my iPad.Time
Around 7 p.m., I had just gotten home.Lighting
The main lighting was from my IPad. I had it open and he jumped up and starred at me with it under his chin.Equipment
I used an iPhone 4s, the camera I had available.Inspiration
Just the look on my cats face and the way the light from iPad looked on his face. I thought to myself, "This would make an awesome picture!"Editing
Yes, I did do post processing. I took the original image into Photoshop Touch and increased brightness and contrast. I then opened a saved version of the image in an app called Tangled" which is where I was able to produce the fiber effect. I then opened both images in Photoshop Touch, I placed the "Tangled" image as the top layer and used "overlay" blend mode at 50%. It took a little bits of playing with the percentages until I got the look I wanted.In my camera bag
2-Nikon D90's, an 85mm f1.4 Nikkor lens; 18-75mm f/3.5-5.6 kit Nikkor lens; 70-200 f/2.8 Nikkor lens; 50mm 1.4 Nikkor lens; 2-SB 700 flash units and various batteries, cards, etc.Feedback
Be ready with whatever camera you have at hand, you never know when an opportunity will appear. Don't be afraid to experiment with different settings, process's, or lighting. Make sure you save the original image before you start playing around in editing software, or you may lose it!
