These lilies were for a present for our 12th wedding anniversary, and the way the light was coming through the conservatory window and hitting the dining room table, made for a great photo opportunity.Time
This was taken about 5pm....early evening, I recall....Lighting
This was a natural light photo, with some reflection coming up off the light oak table..... Slightly golden, I recall...Equipment
Canon 70D shot, available light, and my Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX IS macro lens.... Fantastic lens!Inspiration
The colours of the composition were just crying out to be recorded.....right there and then!Editing
Nothing happened to this photo.... It's a straight from camera unedited not even cropped, I recall, JPEG file.In my camera bag
My walk-around gear has just changed.... I've just bought a Canon 5D mk 3, and a 17-40mm L lens. Also, always in my bag are the Canon 50mm f1.4 lens, and my lovely white Canon 70-200 f2.8 L lens, with 1.4x adapter at the ready....!Feedback
Don't be afraid of upping the ISO to get a more handleable shutter speed, if a tripod isn't readily available or convenient.... Also, make use of the 2 second timer on your camera... It allows you to steady yourself for the shot! Always give the flower a tour, and see how the light changes inside the flower, when viewed from different directions! Good light, all!
