This image was taken toward the end of a creative session where we brought in a girl that was in our studio a couple of years before as a senior in HS.Lighting
I don't typically light with a beauty dish but opted for a bit more control here and used a guided BD as my mainEquipment
All lights were Paul Buff Einsteins with a Buff Beauty dish as the main and two Larson strips as the kickersInspiration
We (Shaley, the model, and Adrienne, my wife) all kinda started with the gold fleck makeup and then just started grabbing random items around us until we arrived at this look.Editing
This image is all about the crop. The model has unreal eyes and with only 1 showing, I believe it to be even more impactful.In my camera bag
I shoot 90% of what I do with a Canon 1DX and a 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II. As for lighting my studio is filled with multiple Buff Einsteins and Sweetlight/Larson Enterprises modifiers. For location shooting I use a kit of two Profoto B1's with a Buff 64" soft silver PLM as a mainFeedback
Just play. This was not a pre-visualized image and in fact one of many from the shoot with the same makeup that all have very different looks and styles all because the we allowed the shot to evolve as we progressed.
