This spot is 99% a sunrise spot, oriented to east and avaiable all the year. This day was tuff: 06.30AM :)Lighting
Sometimes, we're on bed and have a feeling that tomorrow is the day that you get up and catch a great light in the morning. And that's it: the low clouds in horizon don't "blow" the light contrast and created a great color in the clouds with a balanced light reflected in the water.Equipment
I'm not rich, so I keep it simple always :) I use my good and old, but a little faulty Canon EOS 50D with my Sigma 10-20mm 4-5.6 DC HSM. About filters, a Lee 0,9 hard edge to balance the light level of the sky and 0,6 full ND. Tripod: Manfrotto 055XPROB (steady and reliable).Inspiration
This is the most popular spot in Portugal, definitely. But... it's hard to get tired. You always have different light and colors every day, isn't? But I confess that I always want to shoot this bridge with a rich color spread.Editing
A bit... lying is ugly. I remove two boats from the water and reduce highlights in the water. In the color section, nothing done. Seriously!In my camera bag
Few... in Portugal the crisis is hitting us hard and nobody sponsors me. I have a Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM and a Sigma 10-20mm 4-5.6 DC HSM lens, Lee filters SE and HE 0,6 and 0,9, a Little Stopper, a Manfrotto tripod, a remote shutter and that's it. Maybe someday my bag is full of good stuff :)Feedback
Three: - Don't blend! Don't kill photography. Buy few but good filters and retouch the light levels if needed in post production. - Go and go and go to "the" right spot... until you get what you want. Landscape photography IS NOT easy. - Sometimes we're tempted to boost the colors. Have patience to wait for mother nature and use what she gives.
