Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Mourisca, Setúbal, Portugal. A famous spot between portuguese photographers.

Time

A few minutes before sunrise.

Lighting

Always the light. Was very dull but at some point it gets better and increase the contrast of the scene.

Equipment

I used a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20mm f/4 - 5.6, a tripod and a Lee Big Stopper.

Inspiration

I always want to see how this spot can be shooted in a LE in a dull day. I tried only once, in this shot. And I love it. It has motion and drama.

Editing

Very little post-processing. Only curves in LR5.

In my camera bag

Few... in Portugal the crisis is hitting us hard and nobody sponsors me. I have a Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM and a Sigma 10-20mm 4-5.6 DC HSM lens, Lee filters SE and HE 0,6 and 0,9, a Little Stopper, a Manfrotto tripod, a remote shutter and that's it. Maybe someday my bag is full of good stuff :)

Feedback

- First of all: choose a day with low clouds and strong wind to make the skies "move" - Think B&W please... search for good lines, interesting subjects and think always if it works mono - Long exposure seems very well in B&W if you keep it simple and give na idea of movement to the viewer. For closing... thanks a lot for Viewbuggers that vote in my photo. Thanks a lot!
