Location
this particular photo was taken at home in a simple studio setupTime
early evening, taken indoors so the time of day is irrelevant really.Lighting
The lighting was key to this photo. it was taken with the leaves laid out on a home made light box. This enabled the light to penetrate the leaves enhancing the autumn colours. With one of the bulbs being prominent in the lower right hand corner adding the effect of an autumn sun shining through the leaves.Equipment
light box, tripod, free standing lightInspiration
i was in my experiment with colours phase and as it was autumn the true inspiration was the trees outside. i wanted to capture what colours made autumn so beautiful.Editing
Not much done, but i did adjust the color-balance in photoshop just to tweak the greens and the reds.In my camera bag
pretty much the standard setup, flash, couple of lenses. i do like to have some small color gels to place in front of the flash should an image need some additional colour!Feedback
be as diverse as possible with the leaves and their colours. These were all sycamore leaves but i had a nice range of colours to play with. Dont be afraid to play with the colour ranges in software like photoshop sometimes it can make the photo a spectacular image.
