I attended a dress rehearsal for Canada's Ballet Jörgen at the Betty Oliphant Theatre, Toronto, Canada.Time
It was a new experience for me as a photographer as most of time I photograph the wild life and sometimes I do street photography. It was a quite interesting to shoot outdoor. The rehearsal was in the evening when the Theatre had a special time for the artists. I was a very lucky to be a witness and see how the performance was born.Lighting
Conditions of shooting was challenging as the scene was dark and only two artists were lighten.Equipment
This was shot on Canon70D and I used my new lens Sigma 70-200 mm F2,8 EX DG APO OS. I didn't take a tripod so I used a chair in front of me to stabilize an image.Inspiration
It's was mixture of emotions: amazing dancers, beautiful music and energy of contemporary dance itself. It's thrilling moment to see a performance not only as a spectator but also as a photographer. Great challenge for myself - lack of good lighting, new equipment and new type of photography.Editing
I wanted to highlight the emotions of the moment and that's why I developed the image in black & white using Photoshop. I love black & white photography as it reminds me the old school of photography and I think the part of the appeal of black-and-white photography is its more subdued monochromatic character.In my camera bag
The first thing is my Canon 70D, of course:) I usually take 24-105 Canon lens and I'd love to carry 40mm lens. Prime lens always keeps me more inspired to find new ways to photograph and refresh my vision.Feedback
