Love the results...Ilford was my favorite B&W film! ( I have an old roll of Kodak 25 speed film in my freezer, and almost forgot about it, so Thanks for the reminder! )

Behind The Lens

Location

The photograph was taken during a family party in a large space, very close to my house. In a party atmosphere and the curiosity of my daughter, in trying to see through the window the river that passes by very close, I decided to take this.

Time

Were roughly 4 pm. Once the light was sufficient and it seemed interesting pegeui take pictures on my camera at the time an analog film machine 120, medium format, loaded with ILFORD film roll and started looking for the best conditions for shooting. At this point still had a DSLR machine, just a "point and shot". Hence sometimes have some difficulty in obtaining good images.

Lighting

The light is natural, which addressed the window. It impostante mention that it was raining that day, the old window was well positioned in a clearing among the trees, focusing directly to the interior. In the place where I took the photo were erased uzes. It was the perfect time and decided to create a more intense effect.

Equipment

As I mentioned, in this case I used an analog machine, one Salyut C with with a 90 mm lens with f / 2.8, Vega 90mm / 2.8. Now part of my collection as I dedicate myself to take pictures in digital format. However, this machine allowed him to learn a lot about photography, full manual mode, using natural light and sometimes with spotlights and flash to work with some other character. The shooting speed for this case was 1/60 seconds.

Inspiration

As a parent and special passion for photography, step, long time to photograph my family, especially my daughter. These are moments that are registered paa and always is fun.

Editing

In all my pictures do post-processing of the photos. I find it important, although it could have made a more effective crop this image. The film that I used was relatively old and was visible an overlay of ink on the paper that protects the film. I decided to keep it and I think it created a more artistic effect. The lens allows you to take very clear images even with f / 2.8 not having great interest in increasing the sharpness in this photo. Another aspect that I find interesting qunado you do post processing of images is eefctuar correcting the brightness, contrast and light. I think in this case resulted in an interesting picture with a beautiful depth of field.

In my camera bag

Normally I use my Nikon D7100, tripod, 50mm prime lens a 18-105 for general use. Currently I got a wide angle to use for landscape and arquitectura.Tenho some antigoas lenses that use almost exclusively for close-up photography or macro. I carry with me always a set of ND and color filters that always interest for landscape photography and polarizing filter. I have with me a reflector that use in pictures and in low light to take advantage of the incident light.

Feedback

Always make an intelligent and creative use of the material you have in your possession. I have used for some time old machines which allowed me to develop some skills before moving on to digital photography. Always exploring new techniques and lost long, long time, because this is very important to get much, much gain what we have learned and we can show others.
