this would be a great photo to enter my crystal ball challange

Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo on a west side beach in Hawaii.
Time
Sunset, of course!
Lighting
What is special about this photo is that instead of shooting the oculus (the 80mm glass ball that inverts light in the center of this photo) with a wide angle the way many do, I shot it with a long lens at f/4.5. The bokeh'd light in the background is actually the same sunset reflected light on the water in the oculus.
Equipment
Canon 5dII and 70-200 kit lens. free hand.
Inspiration
I purchased an Oculus after my friend Seth took some pretty cool images with one. So, I was stealing some inspiration the way artists do.
Editing
Only some simple touch ups in Photoshop.
In my camera bag
I have been traveling light since leaving Hawaii. Seven months, five countries, and 14 times through Customs inspired me to do it all with one camera and one lens. I have a Canon 5DII and 24-70mm Tamron Lens. And that is all. I also have a hefty magfiber tripod made by Manfrotto. I carry three batteries, a remote shutter, a cleaning kit, and CPL. Oh, and there is almost always food in there.
Feedback
Gain inspiration from others and build on it. Don't just strive to take a similar shot, make it your own! And give credit where it's due!
