I captured this macro work at my garden in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal.Time
It was about 11 in the morning.Lighting
I took it at daylight conditions.Equipment
I used a Pentax K20D camera and a 50 mm macro, f:2.8 Pentax lens. In order to achieve a well focused image I used a Hama tripod. Settings: F:5,6 1/180 50 mm ISO 100Inspiration
I saw this subject, it´s a geranium flower wich petals had already fallen, and the way the red part stood out made me wishing to photograph it. The all around yellows and greens make the little red to pop up.Editing
I allways do some post-processing to my images. Here some light and color correction was made as well as a slight background blur and a flower sharpen. I've allready done the square format crop I thought the best for the composition. In my camera bag
I use to carry a Pentax K20D camera and Pentax 16-45 mm f:4 and Tamron 28-300mm f:3,5-6,3 macro. A Hama tripod is almost always with me, too.Feedback
At macro work you must avoyd complex subjects and keep simple the composition. Messy backgrounds allways ruin the work unless the little DOF makes it to blur profoundly.
