This is a shot from early this past winter. My girlfriend and I are both avid fisherman with a love of the outdoors. This past winter, she was taking a photography class and needed help with one of her assignments. Her professor wanted a "self portrait" showing a side of themselves that their classmates didnt know about. I put "self portrait" in quotations because apparently someone else could take the picture. Not quite a self portrait but ok lol. Anyway, I used her old Nikon d40 and got to play the part of model photographer for the morning. We were greeted with a beautiful golden sunrise and I was lucky to get this shot without much flare. She loves the shot and her parents had it printed. I love it because it captures the essences of surfcasting. The solitude of being one with nature and the awe inspiring sights we get to see on a weekly basis. Enjoy
